Let me pick up where we left off…
On March 10, 2011 Terrace Martin & I released The SEX ep, an 11 track project with features from Hi-Tek, 9th Wonder and Lloyd. On March 15, 2011 I personally received a cease & desist letter from an attorney acting on behalf of Kris Jenner & Kim Kardashian for use of Kim’s breasts (sans face) on the original cover artwork. Unfortunately soon after the link was deaded by the Kardashian team. After much back and forth between our lawyers and theirs we are now able to release to you The SEX ep “Cease & Desist” edition.

2 projects in, and it was finally time for Terrace Martin & I to have our first interview sit down.
So of course, we did it with the fam! Hardknock TV and Nick Huff Barili!
Hardknock TV says:
Exclusive in-depth interview with Devi Dev and Terrace Martin. In part 1 Terrace talks about how he got into Jazz and playing instruments at a young age, including how Jay Leno gave him a scholarship and bought him a Saxophone. Terrace talks about idolizing DJ Quik and Dr Dre growing up to know being able to work with them. Including how Snoop hooked him up with Quincy Jones to work on a Jazz Hip Hop project. Then the interview shifts into how Dev and Terrace met and how the idea for their Marvin Gaye inspired first project Here My Dear came about. From the success of that spawned their new project the SEX EP. They have worked with quite a few artists on the projects including Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Badd Lucc, Problem, Skeme, 9th Wonder, etc.

So as I’m watching the Mosley X Pac fight I get this surprise in my timeline. A big thank you to OG RON C! This sounds bananas!

Were back! This week for #DeviTerraceTuesday we bring you the Calmatic directed visuals for track 10 on The SEX ep.
All this love features Terrace Martin & Kenneth Crouch.

Brought to you by Terrace Martin & Devi Dev, “The SEX ep” is exclusively produced by Terrace Martin with features that include Hi-Tek, 9th Wonder, Lloyd, Problem and more. The idea for The SEX ep spawned after the incredible response to the heavy jazz influence & live instrumentation on the pairs previous effort “Here, My Dear” and the noticeable lack of sensuality in much of the music released as of late. Though originally slated to have only 6 tracks, “The SEX (now album sized) ep” grew to be much more. If directions were to come with this project, they would read something like “Take your clothes off and press play“
DL & Track list after the jump!

If you have listened to Here, My Dear (the ep presented by Terrace Martin & myself) then you know that quality was a huge theme throughout the project. We’ll what you may not know is that the cover art that was made to resemble Marvin Gaye’s classic album cover (of the same name) actually started on the canvas of Keenan Chapman. Watch above as he goes through the stages of creating! #prettycoolstuff
