THROWBACK THURSDAY: DMX “HOW’S IT GOIN DOWN”

July 7, 2011 |  by Devi Dev  |  THROWBACK THURSDAY  |  No Comments

After watching the agonizing DMX episode of behind the music last night, I wanted nothing more then to remember some of  my happy teen moments that were associated with his career.

How’s it goin down was the third single off of his debut album It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot, and happens to be one of my favorite songs from 8th grade.

sigh…Honestly….VH1 really messed me up with Earl’s episode. Had no idea he had been through so much as a child. I truly hope that he one day finds the peace his soul needs.

*BONUS* Watch another one of my fav DMX cut’s after the jump.

I’m a lay the rules ’cause it ain’t much time
If you hide your feelings, and they hard to find,
I wanna know what’s on your mind

In ’91 Eric B & Rakim made an appearance on the soundtrack for House Party 2. The radio friendly single What’s On Your Mind helped the sountrack to peak at number 55 on the Billboard 200 charts.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: P.M. DAWN “SET ADRIFT ON MEMORY BLISS”

May 19, 2011 |  by Devi Dev  |  THROWBACK THURSDAY  |  No Comments

In 1991, P.M. Dawn released Of the Heart, of the Soul and of the Cross: The Utopian Experience and spawned a #1 Billboard hit with Set Adrift on Memory bliss (which soon turned into an international hit, reach #3 on U.K charts). They dropped about 5 studio albums total from ’91-’00 but never quite found the success they reached with that single.

Oh how I LOOOOVED that song.

After the jump check out a bonus vid from the group. I’d die without you of of the Boomerang Soundtrack.
