Was flipping through December’s issue of Vibe Magazine and caught myself in the first few pages! #NICE.
This quote was in response to an article on Tupac’s body of work as in actor that ran in a previous issue.
“”I am the biggest Tupac stan in the world. I thought the story was dope. No shade to tyrese-he’s an incredible actor – but I was never a fan of BAby Boy. It was probably more comedic then what John Singleton wanted. But to think that’Pac could have been in that role, it would’ve completely shifted the feel and vibe of the film. It woud’ve beent hat much more of a sociological awakening for people. It made me really sad when Marlon Wayans likened Tupac to frank Sinatra. It makes you wonder if he could’ve been the next denzel.”
Yah. It’s been about 2 months since I’ve last done one of these. ALOT has been going one. Moved to N.Y, started working at Shade 45 and on another project (that I can’t share yet but am uber excited about) and needless to say my loves….I’ve been slippen on my pic steez! Beach Cruiser out August 30th!
This past weekend, Kendrick Lamar held a sold out show at The Music Box in L.A. Folks like Dr. Dre, Talib Kweli, The Game, Kurupt, Snoop Dogg and Mos Def came to support.
In the video, you can see a very heartfelt moment on stage where Snoop said he was passing the torch to K.Dot. Watching that made tears swell in my eyes. What an amazing moment of West Coast Unity. I am so happy for/ proud of Kendrick. And after seeing this…SO homesick! #LA
So much happens in a year!…seems like yesterday that DJ Eque and I had him and the TDE camp on The Left Effect, and it was exactly 12 months ago that he performed at my going away party. Only a matter of time now before he hits stadium status.
