The first thing I saw this morning was a tweet from my boy CthaGod saying the We the World 25 video looked like a bad SNL skit. I got what he meant during the last 50 seconds. Personally I thought the video looked great until the autotune came in. But regardless of how cheesy some may find it…its for a great cause and its always fun to see familiar faces and hear familiar voices.

My boy Eazee caught up with me not to long ago to quiz me on my favorite Album’s and Mixtapes of 2009. Well…my favorite mixtapes were on point…but for some reason Patron I failed to mention my favorite Albums of 2009 were Slaughter House (slaughterhouse), Ryan Leslie (ryan leslie), The Last Kiss (Jadakiss), If Tomorrow Comes (Maino), BlackSummer’s Night (Maxwell). Take a look
Sex & The City 2 hits theatres on May 28th, so my girl friends and I have decided to use the next couple of months to cover our favorite show episodes over Drinks, carbs, and scandalous man talk.
My Gals: Bombai, Brianne, Vanessa
The Drink: “Bombai’s PomPagne ”
Week 1 Episodes:
# 6 : Secret Sex- “Is secret sex the ultimate form of intimacy?”
# 9 : Turtle in the Hare- “In a City of great expectations is it time to settle down for what you can get?”
Episode 9 found us in our element. We are all young, professional, single (minus bombai), quintessential L.A women, searching for chivalry and romance in a city of excess. Los Angeles, the home to everybody that thinks their a somebody has bred a generation of single men who, even when 30+ believe “Kickin it”, “Hanging out”, and “going dutch” (every time) is the recipe for romance…or at least a fast track to sex. In my Carrie voice I ask you…Is it really too much to ask to be treated like a Woman?
And while I’m at it…Traditional Roles much? I would love to go back in time and date when there was no text, sext, email, skype, twitter, myspace, or facebook courtship.
Granted, being that I’m a serial dater who has the same attention span for love that a 3 yr old has for all things Sparkly, I might be a tad contradictory. But, what I lack in being able to commit (so far), I make up for with my excellent people watching skills and my overly active social life.
Before my gals and I clumsily went our separate ways (PomPagne!), we all agreed that 1. It’s the little details we wish more men would care about, and 2. We don’t want to end up in the childless, unmarried, 45 and still going to Taco Tuesday trap that many a ambitious women has fallen into. Oh, and Vanessa thinks we should all start dating men from NY…jury’s still out on that.
Next Week: Episodes #11, #12 and #14

Today marks 13 years since Tupac was murdered. He was one of the most misunderstood, talented, controversial, and creative people to ever grace this earth. Not to mention, in my opinion the greatest rapper of all time. Through he music he was able to convey every human emotion. He was extremely contradictory yet beautifully vulnerable.
I lived most of my musically conscious life to him.
HE WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED!
Peep this amazing and eerie VIBE footage:
