The Dreamer, The Believer is coming soon. I can’t effin wait!

If I said I wasn’t ecstatic about this track I’d be lying. Last month I told TSS this was my most anticipated collabo of the summer. Peep it below…
*Shrieks* The Dreamer, The Believer drops soon!!
Since I refuse to watch Fox News for any reason, I am so glad that this clip of Jon Stewart’s recent visit to Bill O’Reily’s show has hit the net. Here, Jon completely shuts down the arguement of the conservative right wing as to why Common should not have been invited to the White House.
This vid made my day…facts/logic always have a wonderful way of combating ignorance.

J Dilla dropped The Shinning in ’06, and although 5 years may not be that long ago, I had to include this as a throwback thursday post. Featuring Common and D’Angelo, this instantly became one of my favorite songs. Since Common decided to re-do this track with new verses for his ’07 album Finding Forever, people rarely play the original. So enjoy!
Still devastated that my boyfriend in my head, Common, is newly engaged.
*WAILS*
Check out this vid of the new song he premiered in Hawaii recently. Feels great to hear new music from him.
BMI’s “How I wrote that song” panel was awesome this year. Held at HOB-Sunset, featuring panelist’s like Common (drool), Nas, Salaam Remi, Colbie Caillat, Sebastian Krys and Zac Brown, the Levi’s/ L.A Times sponsored event had us all feeling a bit festive. Between the Music, the food, the 1pm open bar, Roc Nation brunch upstairs and a sighting of Rhianna, it was a great way to spend a saturday afternoon. THEE BEST part was when common did an impromptu live performance of “The light” with Colbie Caillat. Check the Hardknock tv footage
Maxwell and Common hit the Hollywood Bowl this week on their L.A leg of the “BLACKsummer’s night” tour.
What an evening! Common brought out Bilal during his set (I died when he did a full rendition of Bobby Caldwell’s “open your eyes”) and Chrisette Michelle flawlessly kicked off the show.
This was my first time seeing Maxwell live and he definetly delivers! Obviously he did most of this current album but he also ran through his full catalog of all my past favs, all while slow winding and encouraging crown participation. *LAWD*
Funniest moment: A woman threw her panties on stage and he licked them (SICK), then commented “This isnt enough, i need more draws on stage”
Me and my girls had a ball. Below are some funny flicks from the night: Me in a snuggie, and the insane tram ride up there.
