Check out Pt. 2 of Terrace Martin’s interview w/ Nick Huff Barili!
Hardknock TV says:
Exclusive in-depth interview with Terrace Martin, Devi Dev and Badd Lucc. In part 2 Terrace talks about working with Wiz Khalifa and Kendrick Lamar before their major buzz and what he sees as keys to their success. Terrace who has songs in the vaults with numerous artists plays us a song where he sampled Jodeci, which Wiz jumped on. Yes this is a Hard Knock Tv exclusive WORLD premiere, well unless you have been over to Terrace’s house and he played it for ya! Terrace explains that Wiz was at his house when they made the song and that he prefers to work with artists on a personal level and be involved from songs conception to the mastering and that he doesn’t send artists beats over email. At the end of the interview Terrace cautions artists to stay humble because one is always a student of Music and never a master.
2 projects in, and it was finally time for Terrace Martin & I to have our first interview sit down.
So of course, we did it with the fam! Hardknock TV and Nick Huff Barili!
Hardknock TV says:
Exclusive in-depth interview with Devi Dev and Terrace Martin. In part 1 Terrace talks about how he got into Jazz and playing instruments at a young age, including how Jay Leno gave him a scholarship and bought him a Saxophone. Terrace talks about idolizing DJ Quik and Dr Dre growing up to know being able to work with them. Including how Snoop hooked him up with Quincy Jones to work on a Jazz Hip Hop project. Then the interview shifts into how Dev and Terrace met and how the idea for their Marvin Gaye inspired first project Here My Dear came about. From the success of that spawned their new project the SEX EP. They have worked with quite a few artists on the projects including Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Badd Lucc, Problem, Skeme, 9th Wonder, etc.
In part 2 of Hardknock TV’s sitdown with the supergroup they talk individual career and more!
“Without giving you too much of the video, just know that this interview is just getting started. As the conversation progresses Joell describes how music has allowed him to travel, which has opened his mind, including recent trip to Skid Row with Sick Jacken. Crooked talks about having to move around while he was growing up because he was raised by single mom that had 7 kids and how he hated moving as a little kid but it has now helped him become one of the most lyrical MC on the West Coast.”
My boy Nick and the HardKnockTV family caught up with rap-supergroup Slaughterhouse for an in depth talk about their last album, record deals, Eminem and the upcoming project. A very dope watch.
While running around during Rap Camp ( aka SXSW), I ran into Mistah F.A.B out side of a pizza joint. Fab has to be one of the most underrated dudes ever. Every time Hardknock TV and I run up on him he never disappoints us with his incredible freestyle abilities. Peep video below of him going in for 4 minutes!
*Side Note* While rapping, a cop on the side of us kept trying to get us to move because we were blocking the pizza joint. So what does Fab do? Incorporates him into his rap. #Funtimes
Here is pt 1 Hardknock TV’s interview with Blu. In this segment Blu gives Nick Huff Barili insight into his new album and Major label debut, No York. Blu states “It’s not a State, It’s a state of mind, No York state of mind, it a West Coast album with no references to New York” Blu says he has enough songs to make it a triple album and that he is experimenting with a new sound with more of an electric hip hop feel, in the vain of his Johnson and Jonson project.
sidebar: I accidentally interrupted this interview as it was going on, I kept distracting Blu (on accident I swear!) and Nick eventually turned around like WTH… lol sorry Nick!
Balance featuring. U-N-I Hard To Get a.k.a The Ménage à trois song. Directed by Nick Huff Barili. First single of the album Hard Knock TV Presents I DO IT 4 HIP HOP featuring Balance. Coming THIS SPRING!
