Last night I witnessed some amazing dialogue between Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco, Malice (of The Clipse) and a venue full of Rice University student’s. Bun B, who currently co-teaches a “religion & Hip Hop” course at Rice invited the above mentioned artist’s to speak to his student’s, in hopes ( I’d imagine) of expanding minds on the role Hip Hop plays in society and addressing much of the criticism it receives.
Some absolutely INCREDIBLE points were made. I captured many of them via twitter, and after the jump you can watch video from the event, plus see pics and tweets!!
