After going to the Freedom Awards in the fall- My boy Quddus realized what a problem modern day slavery still is- 27 million people deep to be exact- and now that there’s so many orphaned children vulnerable to traffickers in Haiti that number is only getting bigger. To raise awareness for this issue he’s launching “A Contest For Freedom” and handing out a cash prize of $800 to the most inspiring and most popular short videos about why slavery sucks. Kicked off Saturday night with my girl Erica at Phillipe Chow’s for Interscope’s Pre-Grammy Dinner (*sidenote* while okay, Phillipe’s has nada on Mr. Chow’s). We were worried all this excessive eating was gonna make us late for the Trey Songz/ Melanie Fionna show at HOB, but luckily for us they were running later then us. Made it to the table as soon as he got on stage. Even though bringing Drake and Fabolous was a nice touch, Trey all by himself proved to be an incredible show.
